Minorite Church

TIME : 2016/2/18 20:16:23

The Minorite Church was originally late Gothic but was ravaged by the Turks in 1587 and rebuilt in the baroque style 130 years later. Five spectacular altars carved in Presov (now eastern Slovakia) in the mid-18th century fill the nave and chancel. The most interesting is the first on the left, the Krucsay Altar of the Passion (1737), with its diverse portrayals of fear, longing, devotion and faith.
