Duncannon Fort

TIME : 2016/2/18 22:15:39

Star-shaped Duncannon Fort, just west of Duncannon village, was built in 1588 to stave off a feared attack by the Spanish Armada, and later used by the Irish army as a WWI training base (most buildings here date from this period). There's a small military and maritime museum, plus a cafe, a dry moat and an art gallery. The fort is closed for renovation work until further notice.
