The history of steam power and its role in the development of industry is told at the Steam Museum, located in an old church. The Power Hall has six 19th-century steam engines, from breweries, distilleries, factories and ships; regular demonstrations of how they worked are held. Next door, the 18th-century walled garden has traditional fruits, flowers and formal plantings.
