Susa's Roman ruins make for an interesting stop on the way to the western ski resorts. In addition to the remains of a Roman aqueduct, a still-used amphitheatre and the triumphal Arco d'Augusto (dating from 9 BC), a druid well remains as testimony to the Celtic origins before it fell under the Roman Empire's sway.
