Ganića Kula

TIME : 2016/2/18 22:51:09

Residential towers of this sort were once common throughout eastern Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania. Not just a defence against invaders, a kula was particularly useful for protecting the menfolk during interfamily blood feuds. There are gun slits on the bottom floor and only small barred windows on the next two. The wooden top floor provides a little more comfort, with bigger windows and a carved balcony. There’s a small collection of artefacts inside but the tower is rarely open.
