Stadsarchief

TIME : 2016/2/19 2:27:37

The Amsterdam archives occupy a monumental bank building that dates from 1923. When you step inside, head to the left to the enormous tiled basement vault and displays of archive gems such as the 1942 police report on the theft of Anne Frank's bike. A small cinema at the back shows vintage films about the city.

Tours (adult/child €6/free) run at 2pm on Saturday and Sunday and must be reserved in advance.

Upstairs, a gallery space mounts temporary exhibits (for a small entry fee). Its bookshop, the Stadsboekwinkel , sells city-oriented tomes.
