Visnes Grubeområde

TIME : 2016/2/18 23:05:14

Copper from this mine at Visnes, 4km west of Avaldsnes, was used to build the Statue of Liberty in New York and the operations here were the largest and most modern in northern Europe. The museum showcases operations at the copper mine back to 1865, along with access to the extensive parkland that the mine's progressive French manager and engineer originally created for workers' recreation.
