This is the best-known and most expensive of the Wild West parks and provides some good family entertainment. The set itself is in decent condition, and the well-kept zoo has grown to a considerable size with some 800 animals at last count, including lions, giraffes, tigers and hippos. Children usually enjoy the 20-minute shoot-outs (resulting in an unceremonious hanging), while adults may prefer the clichéd can-can show (or at least the beer) in the saloon.
There are also two pools (open about June to September) and a few restaurants and cafes (think overpriced burgers and chips), all adding up to a few hours of family fun. It's 27km from Almería. Take sunscreen and a hat: there is little shade.
