About 15km further on, you enter the historic crossroads town of Monforte de Lemos. Once an important rail junction, Monforte is neither as compact nor as pristine as other stops on the route, the medieval Torre da Homenaxe , a defensive tower left as the last vestige of the castle that once stood here is worth visiting.
