The Roman gate that controlled access to the city from the east is in marvellous repair, framing the fertile countryside outside it like a precious, faded rug. Guided tours of the Puerta de Córdoba can be arranged through the Museo de la Ciudad, providing at least eight participants show up at the appointed time.
