Set in a 16th-century inn, this local history museum sheds light on the the town's long history (Montgomery was granted a Royal Charter in 1227, making it the oldest borough in Wales) and features scale models of the castle, artefacts from excavations, and exhibits on the Cambrian Railway, the local workhouse and construction of half-timbered buildings.
