Dig deep into Sharjah’s past at this elegant museum which does a fine job of displaying and interpreting locally unearthed artefacts from the Stone Age to AD 600. Walk among re-created tombs and houses and admire ancient tools, 3500-year-old bronze spearheads, dainty shell necklaces, well-preserved Iron Age pottery and Roman gold coins. A taxi here from the city centre should cost about Dh10.
