Museum of Northern Arizona

TIME : 2016/2/18 10:30:50

An attractive Craftsman-style stone building amid a pine grove, this small but excellent museum spotlights local Native American archaeology, history and culture, as well as geology, biology and the arts. It's on the way to the Grand Canyon, and makes a wonderful introduction to human and natural history of the region.

From May through August, the museum hosts recommended Thirsty Thursdays ($5, 5pm to 9pm), with storytelling, dancing and hands-on events in the museum courtyard. One night Lowell Observatory may come with their lunar telescope, and another the Arboretum puts on a raptor show. There's a cash bar, and guests have full access to the museum. Check the website for a calender of events, workshops and field classes.
