International Swimming Hall of Fame

TIME : 2016/2/18 10:57:59

Arced like a wave above Ocean Drive, this 1960s acquatic complex and museum is home to the International Swimming Hall of Fame and its weird and wonderful collection of acquatic memorabilia, the largest in the world. Meander through two extensive halls and learn about the origins of swimming in Africa, admire changing swimwear fashions and historic aquatic artwork, as profiles on over 700 of the world's greatest acquatic athletes.

In the Huizenga Theatre you can also catch up on lost classics such as Esther William's Million Dollar Mermaid ; or bring along your own swimsuit and dive into one of the 50-meter pools at the adjoining Aquatic Complex , which is open to the public.

Sadly the museum's Fort Lauderdale days are numbered as it searches for a new home in 2015 when the current lease expires.
