If your kids are a little too grown-up for the Children’s Museum, they can graduate to this museum on the eastern edge of Brackenridge Park. The Witte (pronounced ‘witty’) is educational but engaging, with hands-on explorations of natural history, science and Texas history.
Don't miss the Science Treehouse, a high-tech activity center in back of the museum building. It's a hit with all ages, even the really big kids (aka parents). The museum is free on Tuesdays from 3pm to 8pm.
