Just beyond the ‘Hotel Del,’ this beach is consistently ranked in America’s top 10. Four-and-a-half miles south of Coronado Village is the white-sand Silver Strand State Beach . Both have warm, calm water, perfect for swimming and good for families. Silver Strand, a long, narrow sand spit, continues south to Imperial Beach and connects Coronado to the mainland, though people still call it ‘Coronado Island.’
