This excellent, if musty, museum already boasted the world's largest collection of ancient Mimbres ceramics, even before it was augmented by a further treasure trove unearthed at New Mexico’s NAN Ranch. Renowned for their vibrant decoration, most Mimbres pots were ‘terminated’ by their prehistoric owners, by being deliberately punctured with a ‘kill hole’. The gift shop specializes in Mimbres motifs.
