From Army Beach you can drive further down the road, passing still more white-sand beaches with aqua-blue waters. The bit of sand off the pull-out just beyond the first Kaʻena State Park sign has a small rock-free swimming area accessible in calm surf. The large parking area is not only desolate but can also be a bit trashed. Car break-ins are commonplace.
