The Empire Stores & Tobacco Warehouse is a series of hollow, Civil War–era structures that are being transformed into high-end retail shops, restaurants, offices, a food market and a museum with Brooklyn-themed exhibits. The cutting-edge theater St Ann's Warehouse opened in 2015; other openings (including a rooftop beer garden) are slated for 2016.
