At the very northern end of Fort Myers Beach, is Bowditch Point Regional Park, a great spot for families. It's close to urban amenities (and restrooms), but possessed of plenty of wild beauty. Parking costs $1 an hour and the park is open form 7am until half an hour after sunset.
