Pima Point
Good views of Hermit Camp on the Tonto Platform and Hermit Rapids on the Colorado River as well as some sections of the Hermit Trail. A great spot to watch sunrise/sunset.

Located 14 miles north of Lubbock near the town of New Deal, this winery is known for its range of wines, including the expected cabs but also a zesty chenin blanc.

Harvard Hall
Flanking Johnston Gate are the two oldest buildings on the Harvard campus. On the north side is Harvard Hall, which dates to 1766 and originally housed the library.

Grapevine Historical Society
This well-funded museum moved to new quarters in 2013, next to the Visitor Information Center. It has excellent displays covering just who settled in Grapevine and why.

Grey Towers
The chateau-style home of Gifford Pinchot, founder of the US Forest Service, is open for tours, and the rambling grounds are cut through with scenic walking trails.

Stretching along the entire western edge of Virginia, these two mammoth forests comprise more than 1562 sq miles of mountainous terrain bordering the Shenandoah Valley.

Connecticut River Museum
The Connecticut River Museum exhibits regional history and includes a reproduction of the worlds first submarine, a hand-propelled vessel built at this site in 1776.

Carillon Historical Park
The many heritage attractions include the 1905 Wright Flyer III biplane, a replica of the Wright workshop and an 1850s-style brewery where you can drink the wares.

Carmel Beach City Park
Not always sunny, Carmel Beach is a gorgeous blanket of white sand, where pampered pups excitedly run off-leash. South of 10th Ave, bonfires crackle after sunset.

Spiral Jetty
Created by Robert Smithson in 1970, its a 1500ft coil of rock and earth spinning out into the water. Its a little hard to find; get directions from the visitor center.

Singing Oak
This oak tree near Big Lake in City Park stands festooned with chimes, some up to 14ft in length. Standing under the tree during the slightest breeze is pretty magical.

Need a break from boozing? This petite art museum exhibits wilderness-themed paintings and photography that may inspire you to go hiking in the mountains outside town.

Wallowa County Museum
The Wallowa County Museum, housed in an 1888 bank building, is notable for its displays on local pioneer and Nez Percé histories; check out the ladies jail out the back.

The Farm@Lee Martinez Park
Pony rides and a barnyard of cows, turkeys and chickens make this shady riverside park a draw for families. In the summer there are storytellers and special events.

Sloan Museum
The Sloan has two buildings housing more than 60 cars, including the oldest production-model Chevrolet in existence and a 1910 Buick Bug raced by Louis Chevrolet.
