The University of South Florida’s museum mounts six to eight exhibitions by university students and alumni. Parking costs $3 Monday to Friday.

In Tonopah, the Central Nevada Museum has a good collection of Shoshone baskets, early photographs, mining relics and mortician’s instruments.

Antique Boat Museum
This museum lets you row old skiffs as you learn about them. You can also tour George Boldts glam 1903 houseboat; reserve a tour time in advance.

US Coast Guard Academy
Visitors here can stroll the grounds of one of the four military academies in the country. Pick up a self-guided walking tour booklet at the museum.

The Unity Temple is the only other Wright building that devotees can go inside; it requires a separate admission fee for a self-guided look around.

This high-speed chairlift provides access to downhill mountain-bike trails. The resort distributes free bike trail guides. Passes are for all lifts.
