Northwest of the townsite, this trio of tranquil lakes is another great place for wildlife spotting – elk, beavers, bald eagles and ospreys can often be seen around the lakeshore, especially at dawn and dusk. A paved driveway – part of the Legacy bike trail – runs along the lake’s southern side for 4.5km (2.8 miles), but the proximity of the Trans-Canada Hwy means that it’s not as peaceful as it could be.
