Saskatchewan River Crossing

TIME : 2016/2/19 4:09:26

This way station was established by 19th-century fur trappers who crossed the North Saskatchewan River here on their way through the Rockies to British Columbia. Today, it marks the junction of Hwy 93 (the Icefields Pkwy) and Hwy 11 (the David Thompson Hwy). It is home to the only facilities between Lake Louise and the Columbia Icefield – a non-fancy motel, cafeteria-style restaurant and gas station.
