Hidalgo statue

TIME : 2016/2/18 10:07:51

The plaza beholds a statue of the man himself, Hidalgo (in Roman garb, on top of a tall column). Here, too, is a tree that, according to the plaque beneath it, was a sapling of the tree of the Noche Triste (Sad Night), under which Cortés is said to have wept when his men were driven out of Tenochtitlán in 1520.
