Further afield, the impressive waterfall known as El Salto lies about two hours south of Santa Fé along a bad 4WD road, only accessible during the dry season. On foot, it is a full eight-hour excursion with time for bathing.
There are also three waterfalls in Alto de Piedra. Since access can be difficult and affected by recent weather conditions; it is necessary to hire a local guide to visit these areas. Aventuras Cesamo is available for hikes and bird-watching.
