Mareeba Wetlands

TIME : 2016/2/18 14:21:51

This is a 20-sq-km reserve of woodlands, grasslands, swamps and the expansive Clancy's Lagoon, a birdwatchers' nirvana. A huge range of bird species flock here, and you might see other animals such as kangaroos and freshwater crocs. Over 12km of walking trails criss-cross the wetlands. The two-hour sunset safari (adult/child $68/34) includes drinks and nibbles, or take a 30-minute eco-cruise (adult/child $15/7.50) or paddle in a canoe ($15 per hour). The on-site Jabiru Safari Lodge has solar-powered tented cabins and a spa. Take the Pickford Rd turn-off from Biboohra, 7km north of Mareeba.
