The Beaconsfield Mine & Heritage Centre has hands-on interactive exhibits, including old mining machinery, a waterwheel, a mine-rescue exhibition, and an interactive high-tech mine hologram that seems to take you right down the mine. The working mine headshaft is right behind the museum. To save a few dollars buy a three-attraction Tamar Triple Pass to Beaconsfield’s Mine & Heritage Centre and the Platypus House and Seahorse World in Beauty Point (adult/famil $50/136).
