Fourteen kilometres along the road from Strahan to Zeehan are the spectacular Henty Dunes, a series of 30m-high sugary-fine sand dunes backing Ocean Beach. Unfortunately, the peaceful beauty is marred by the strident noises of off-road vehicles, which are permitted here. From the picnic area take the 1½-hour return walk through the dunes and out to Ocean Beach; remember to carry drinking water.
