Tinkle Tinkle Little Star: Rocking Out at the Urinal

São Paulo is justly famed for the eclecticism of its nightlife offerings, but in general the focus isn’t on what’s being performed in the bathrooms. A fun exception to the rule, however, has been the latest publicity campaign launched by Billboard Music Brasil. Instead of online ads or outdoor billboards, the Brazilian version of the American music magazine hired Brazilian ad agency almaBBDO, which came up with an idea that was not only creative, but downright pissy.

The customized urinals are tricked out with sensor-mounted strings that play different notes when hit with varying degrees of pee pressure.

“Guitar Pee” consists of a guitar-shaped urinal that invites full-bladdered men with latent rock star fantasies to compose tunes using their creative juices. The customized urinals are tricked out with sensor-mounted strings that play different notes when hit with varying degrees of pee pressure.

After aspiring Hendrixes and Halens finish their compositions and flush, a Billboard branded sign displays a number for them to copy. With this code, they can log onto guitarpee.com, and can subsequently stream, download, and listen to their solo effort – or “mPEE3.”

Currently circulating among the men’s rooms of various trendy São Paulo bars, Guitar Pee certainly does a good job of underscoring Billboards’s motto: “Music. We Know It Comes From Everywhere.”
