Flying should be about you, not the airliner

TIME : 2016/3/18 11:46:50
You want to go on an urgent business trip, or fly with your family on that long due vacation. What do you do? You call up an airline of your choice to book tickets. The operator tells you about the non-availability of flights on your preferred dates. What next?

Do you try another airline, rework your appointment with that international client or cancel the family holiday as your wife has other commitments or maybe your kids have to go back to school? Stop scratching your head and opt for an air charter flight instead.

Travel should always be about your convenience, not the airliners'. This is the biggest advantage of a private flight; it lets you plan your itinerary as per your requirements. Your client's office may be in a small town that's not serviced by the major commercial carriers. Or, that exotic location on your family's list may not have daily flights.

Have you tried a private charter flight?

Private charter flights are eliminating these barriers and making flying easy and worry-free. Why should you make adjustments when you are the one paying? With a private jet, you can fly to almost any destination, including those that don't have a fully-serviced airport, and at those times that are feasible to you.

Talking about time, commercial carriers fly as per their schedules. More often than not, we seem to be struggling to make it to the airport on time. That's because we have ten different things to do before we leave; plus the check-in, baggage and security checks and the boarding time mean you need to reach atleast a couple of hours before the flight leaves.

With an air charter flight, there are no long queues to stand in, or cumbersome security checks that seem to take forever. You can reach even fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled departure, have your luggage taken directly to the aircraft, skip security check and board the flight so that you are on your way right on time.

Larger airports have Fixed Base Operators or FBOs, separate terminals for private jets where the passengers check-in for their flight. Passengers can be driven straight to their aircraft, bypassing security. From arriving at the private jet terminal to boarding the aircraft, it takes 5 minutes, sometimes even less!

Air charter flights let you fly with your pets!

If you have pets at home and your entire family is flying, you don't need to leave them at your parent's or friend's place. They can fly with you on a private charter flight, provided they have the required documents. Some situations need a dedicated pet airport that has to be used. Speak to your travel operator or private jet representative about flying with pets.

You can book a private flight in a matter of few hours and even call to reschedule, giving an apt notice window to the operator to make the adjustments.

And what about adding a passenger at the last moment? Well, its normally easy to add extra passengers in your private jet journeys, till the last minute. But some destinations like Russia need a pre-clearance of the passengers.

Also, short runways may have a limitation on the landing and take-off weights, so it's advisable to check those prior to booking. You can save unwanted delays or embarrassment for your guests by checking with the air charter flight operator. John Brown is an accomplished writer and his travelogues make for an interesting read.
