New Maasai warrior experience for children

TIME : 2016/2/26 11:35:22

Children staying at Cottars 1920s luxury safari camp in the Maasai Mara are being invited to join in a Maasai warrior session which includes fun-learning on how to make fire, spear throwing, bow and arrow practice and other activities incorporating the fascinating culture of the Maasai people. The activities are organised by Cottars own Maasai team and led by Kinyaika, one of the oldest Maasai trackers in the business. The course gives parents the chance to enjoy a peaceful game drive followed by a romantic sundowner in the spectacular setting of the majestic Maasai Mara.

There is no extra charge for the Maasai Warrior experience and no age restrictions, although guests are advised to use common sense given the activities involved. All children are awarded with a certificate at the end of the course and a wooden bow and (non-lethal) arrow is awarded as a prize for talented participants hitting the right targets.

The Cottar Safari tradition began in 1919. Over 90 years on, the camp continues to provide an unparalleled safari experience to discerning clients in Africa. Extending an era of luxury and quality, Cottars 1920s returns to the original spirit and essence of safari, reminiscent of a golden era an era of romance, professional guiding, adventure and elegance.

Situated in the Masai Mara, in an untouched exclusive concession bordering the Serengeti and Loliondo reserves, the camp and the area guarantee privacy and an abundance of wildlife. The camp accommodates up to 28 guests in authentic white canvas tents, which are spacious and luxuriously furnished. They incorporate original safari antiques from the 1920s, private ensuite dressing rooms and bathrooms, main bedrooms and verandas.
