Downtown Ubud accommodation options

Ubud is often the first place that Kuta based tourists visit on a day trip. It offers a totally different scene which only gets better the longer you stay. The great thing about Ubud is that downtown is loaded with accommodation options to fit every budget. Jl. Hanoman and Jl. Kajeng, both downtown offer handy accommodation for people without transport. Jl. Penestenan slightly out of town is one of the many other options for a quieter stay.

As the rooms are in a block your are in close proximity to your neighbor. Still a good budget place. 50,000rp per night.

Wonderful site with ricefields and unspoilt land, rich with trees. Eight large rooms in 2 buildings, the best rooms being those upstairs. Close to downtown, with connecting rooms, swimming pool, good breakfasts. Hot water, AC. Upstairs rooms $45 per night, downstairs rooms $35 per night.

Nice set of 15 rooms, all with choice of fan or AC. Rooms are in 2-storey blocks close to the paddy fields. This place is popular with good. Swimming pool, massage service, cooking school, day treks. Each room occupies its own small compound, complete with cool furnishings, AC, a courtyard garden and sunken bath. The more expensive rooms have wide terraces overlooking the river. There’s a big pool, a restaurant and an attractive lounge. $80 for an AC Double room.


Waka di Ume

Sixteen bungalows designed in the Waka group’s ‘Bali cool’ style, with furniture and interior design. Each bungalow has a wonderful rice-paddy view (better from the upstairs rooms), and two ‘gob-smacking’ pools (one for anak anak), a spa and a restaurant. Free transport to downtown.
