Keeping things in perspective in Bali

TIME : 2016/2/25 14:10:14

This morning in Seminyak, the owner of my motorbike wanted to borrow the registration, in order to renew it. This means I risk a fine, if I am caught riding without it. Walking down to the local internet cafe, I discovered the power was out. On my way home I realized I had sent the pembantu off to the market to buy detergent, with my house keys. Just one of those days!

Life as a Bali expat is full of little bumps in the road. The attitude I am trying to develop is ‘That’s Indonesia, take it or leave it’. Keeping things in perspective is important, especially when comparing my situation with the obstacles other people face.
