How to get to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea

Getting to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea is easy. From Narita Airport, it is only about one hour by bus, so it makes a good first stop on a trip to Japan. Take the bus, which runs about 6 times per day, from Narita terminal 1, stop #7.  Spend the night in one of the resort hotels and be ready to visit the park bright and early.

If you prefer the train from Narita Airport, take the Narita Express to Tokyo Station, then transfer to either the JR Keiyo or JR Musashino line to Maihama Station. This is a good option if you want to use your JR Pass. The combined time with the transfer is about an hour and a half.

There is also a direct bus from Haneda Airport to the Tokyo Disneyland park. It leaves the International Terminal from stop #5, or stop #6 from terminals #1 and 2. It takes about 45 minutes, and is a much easier ride than the train, which requires two transfers.

From Tokyo, the easiest method to get to Tokyo Disneyland is by train. From Shinjuku or Shinagawa Stations, take the JR Yamanote Line to Tokyo Station. Other lines also converge at Tokyo Station, so it is very convenient from many other parts of the city as well. From there, take either the JR Keiyo or Musashino line to Maihama Station. It takes about 15 minutes.

Many JR buses run from different stations to the park, but these options are more difficult for a foreign visitor, as most buses are marked only in Japanese. Seating is limited, so a reservation is advisable.

Tokyo Disney Resort also partners with many hotels around the Tokyo Metropolitan area in a program called “Good Neighbor Hotels.” These hotels offer packages which include shuttle service to and from the park. If your hotel participates, you can make bus reservations with the concierge.

Within the resort itself, there is a monorail and a bus that circle around Disneyland, Disney Sea, and the affiliated hotels. If you are staying at the resort, consider this option to get from place to place.

Taxis are not an efficient way to get to or from Tokyo Disneyland because the distances from most other tourist destinations are quite long, and traffic on the highways frequently is slow.     You can look for these and other travel options and check current prices on the official Tokyo Disney resort website:  http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/en/access/index.html
