Review: Manhattan Hotel, Sukhumvit 15, Bangkok

TIME : 2016/2/24 18:44:10

I’ve stayed at the Manhattan Hotel in Bangkok on two separate occasions in the last month and would definitely stay there again. The Manhattan is a decent mid-range hotel and enjoys an excellent location on Sukhumvit 15, less than 5 minutes walk to Skytrain and Metro stops.

The hotel is certainly showing a few signs of wear and tear and the rooms could do with redecorating and the carpets replacing. However, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable which is the main thing I worry about. The buffet breakfast is fairly standard but very good all the same, offering Western, Thai and Korean food. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful and whilst I didn’t use the internet service or tour booking facility, it’s there if anybody needs it. In common with many Bangkok hotels, there is a taxi booking desk out front. Preference seems to be given to limousines which attract a higher fare, but they’ll soon call up a standard taxi-meter if you prefer. A taxi-meter to or from Suvarnabhumi or Don Muang airport should be in the region of 250-300 Baht (including expressway tolls and the airport pick-up charge). Journey time approximately 45 minutes between either airport and the hotel.

Marks: 7/10
Summary: Overall, a good mid-range hotel benefiting from a great location and providing good value for money. Recommended.
