Nightlife and Entertainment in Dallas

TIME : 2016/2/24 10:30:52
It wouldn’t be Texas without cowboy-packed saloons, and Dallas has its fair share of toe-tapping yee-haawing nightspots. Saying that, it’s not all guitars and Stetsons in Dallas. You can join hip young urbanites dancing to resident DJs in the city’s modern clubs, or head for a beer at a local tavern if you fancy something more relaxed.

Bars

Traditional pubs are the mainstay of Dallas’ nightlife. Beer gardens brim with local families during summer days, while at night they’re filled with professionals and students chatting with friends over locally brewed ales. And if you’re a sports fan, head to a local tavern to watch whichever Dallas game’s on that night.

The Ginger Man

A relaxed neighborhood pub. That’s what’s on offer at The Ginger Man, and it doesn’t disappoint. Head here in summer to sup on a beer in the garden, or cozy up in winter in the upstairs lounge. This Texas institution is definitely a local go-to spot for a laid-back drink.

2718 Boll Street, Dallas TX 75204.

Big Al’s McKinney Avenue Tavern

A favorite Uptown hangout spot, this is the place to come and watch a local game on one of 25 TV screens. If you have a few too many beers you might find yourself grabbing the mic and singing along to some karaoke, too.

Dance halls

If you’re looking for a traditional southwestern dance hall, Dallas has plenty to offer. You can join the cowboys and their girls two-stepping the night away in one of the city’s iconic country and western venues

The Round-Up Saloon & Dance Hall

This lively saloon happens to be Dallas’ top gay-friendly nightspot. It’s welcoming to all, and the fun-time mix of music, line dancing, and karaoke makes for an energetic night out.

Live music

Dallas has its fair share of vast stadium venues where you can catch big-name pop and rock stars on their most recent tours. Smaller places offer a more diverse night out, including student-filled bars promoting local bands, and authentic saloons showcasing country, bluegrass, and roots music.

Sons of Hermann Hall

This famed venue will whisk you back 100 years the moment you step inside. Creaky floorboards, dark wood furniture, and a cash only bar are not the only throwbacks to an earlier time - Stetson wearing cowboys regularly strum their guitars in this old-school venue.

3413 Elm Street, Dallas TX 75226.

Nightclubs

If you’re looking to dance the night away to a thumping beat, seek out one of Dallas’ glitzy modern nightclubs. Offering swanky cocktails, ladies’ nights, and top DJs, they'll keep you going till the early hours.

Avenu Lounge

One of Dallas’ best known clubs, Avenu Lounge is a chic spot wwathed with leather sofas, mood lighting, and plush decor. Head here for cocktails and hours of dance floor mayhem with the city’s urban crowd.
