Holualoa Inn

TIME : 2016/2/25 15:09:53

When life seems to be moving just a bit too fast, the perfect place to slow down is the charming little village of Holualoa, just 3 miles or 15 minutes up the slope of Mt. Hualalai from Kailua-Kona. Whether you’re looking to explore Kona Coffee country or to experience a romantic weekend getaway, Holualoa Inn is the perfect choice when you’re in the mood for a splurge.

The 30 acre property is home to two suites, two king and two queen rooms, each featuring amenities like 800-count Egyptian-cotton sheets, ipod ports, and luxurious bathrobes and slippers. A game room and common area with kitchenette are available downstairs near the solar-heated pool.

A perfect choice for honeymooners or those looking to celebrate romance, the inn has a beautiful gazebo where guests can treat themselves to side-by-side couples’ massages! Hot tubs built for two, rose-petal strewn beds, and sunset views from the rooftop gazebo will put you in the mood to enjoy your Hawaiian escape. Weddings can also be arranged, and the whole property is available for special events or functions.

On a tour of the grounds, you will see fresh figs, banana, starfruit, papaya, as well as tropical flowers and thousands of arabica coffee trees. Every morning guests are treated to a full breakfast with ingredients that are locally sourced, many of which are plucked right from the trees outside.

A steaming cup of 100% Kona coffee is the best accompaniment to the delicious meals cooked up by Chef Brian including fresh fig jam, pancakes with bananas foster or fresh macadamia nut toppings, guava or passionfruit juices, and more. Breakfast is served with a magnificent view from 1400 ft elevation of Kailua-Kona just down the slope from the Inn – the perfect way to start your day.

Ask the staff if you need assistance with planning your activities for the day – they are full of great information and tips on how to make the most of your stay. Activities can be booked via the private concierge service, including lunches for day trips. Guests are also welcome to take a tour of the coffee orchard to see how Kona coffee is grown, roasted, and served up fresh each day at Holualoa Inn.

Room rates: $285 to $355, including full breakfast daily as well as a selection of refreshments and baked goods each afternoon. (No charge for the million-dollar view.)
