Hulopo’e Beach (Lanai)


Hulopo’e Beach is regarded as the most beautiful beach in the entire United States. The gold sand beaches, towering palm trees, deep blue waters, and unspoiled reefs are just a few of the reasons people make their way to Hulopo’e Beach. The beach is slightly off the beaten path and as such, the area is hardly overcrowded.

Camping Information

You’ll need a permit to camp here. To get it, contact Castle and Cooke Resorts, which are located in Lanai City at (808) 565-2970. There’s a $5 registration fee plus a charge of $5 per person per night.

Haena Beach Park (Kauai)


The Naena Beach Park is a favorite beach camping spot fr locals and tourists alike. It is a prime camping spot, as it is located the North Shore of Kauai. This makes it just a few minutes walk to some of the best swimming and snorkeling at Tunnel beach. Outdoor enthusiasts are sure to enjoy camping here because there are a wealth of things to explore that are all within walking distance of the park.

Camping Information

You will need a permit. These cost $3 per person, per night. You can stay at the county parks a maximum of 4 nights, or 12 nights if you are going from one county park to another. To apply for the permit, contact Shani Saito in the Permits Division of Kauai County Parks and Recreation.

Spencer Beach Park (Big Island)


Spencer Beach Park is more of a family campground than a place for hardcore backpackers. While there are some hiking trails and other activities near by, the park is more focused on day trippers and family camp outs. The park host plenty of camping amenities such as a picnic tables, showers, bathrooms, some barbecue grills, a basketball court, and a pavilion.

Malaekahana Campgrounds (Oahu)


If you are looking for a place to campout on the beach win a primitiave manner, Malaekahana campgrounds can help you do that. The campgrounds have no pool, no phone, no tvs, just pure unspoiled coast. The campground is one of the safest in Hawaii and sits on 36 acres of gated property with a 24 hour security gaurd.

Camping Information

Reservations are taken up to a year in advance and can be made via phone, fax or email. Deposit must be made within 7 days to confirm reservation and balance is due at least 14 days before check-in. There is a 2 night minimum stay for all advance reservations.
