World Series Ticket Prices

World Series ticket prices are averaging close to an all-time high, especially in New York.

The World Series is never cheap; tickets to the Fall Classic generally run for a few hundred dollars a piece. This year, though, they might run you even more—especially at the New York Mets’ Citi Field.

According to The Kansas City Star, the median resale price for Game 1 at the Kansas City Royals’ Kauffman Stadium was $755 as of Monday. Game 3 at Citi Field? $1,128. What’s more, as of time of writing a standing-room-only ticket in Kansas City was going for $190 for Game 1. For the same ticket to Game 3 in New York, you’d have to shell out $600. You could have taken a $204 Southwest flight from Newark to Kansas City and caught the game for just under $400 all told—though of course, you’d probably want to fly back, in which case you could still do the whole trip for not much more than one Mets ticket.

Game 2 standing-room tickets are currently holding steady at around $250 (though they may drop), so you could even catch a Wednesday flight to KC and see the game for cheaper than the least expensive Game 3 ticket—and way cheaper than the $15,000 seats behind home plate.

For the record, the most expensive median price for a World Series game came in the sixth game in 2013, when the average ticket fetched $1,175.
