This exceptionally brilliant museum houses film-director Peter Jackson's collection of original and replica Great War aircraft, brought to life in a series of dioramas that depict dramatic wartime scenes, such as the death of the Red Baron. A new wing houses Dangerous Skies, a WW2 collection. Vintage biplane flights are available (20 minutes, $390 for two people).
A cafe and shop are on-site, and next door is Omaka Classic Cars , which houses more than 100 vehicles dating from the '50s to the '80s.
