Pay homage to Dom Perignon's latest vintage

TIME : 2016/2/26 9:53:04

Dom PerignonDom Perignon is synonymous with luxury and extravagance and is the prestige cuvée of the famous Moet et Chandon Champagne house. But, did you know that the name itself originates from a 17th century monk, Pierre Perignon who is regarded as the earliest developer of sparkling wines by the Champagne method? Moet et Chandon began producing Dom Perignon in 1936 which celebrated the monk’s exploits. It quickly became the drink of the exclusive, and the famous vintage is always greatly received and much applauded. Summer Lodge in Evershot, Dorset, famous for its extensive wine cellar, is paying homage to the latest vintage to be released, the sumptuously complex 1999. A programme of events will mark this special day on Saturday, 10th March 2007 - it is sure to be a very special treat for lovers of the remarkable ‘bubbly’.
