Whatever you need to buy, you can find it in Panama City. With six large shopping malls and many more shopping centers, Panama City can meet your every shopping need. From international department stores to the local boutiques, when shopping in Panama City you are sure to find something within your budget.

Albrook Mall

This is the biggest mall in Panama with over 450 stores, 350 kiosks and around 40 restaurants. Here you can find the international department stores with high end and high street prices as well as low budget stores, souvenir shops and a supermarket. This mall also has a 36-lane bowling alley, 8-screen cinema, a carousel and a children’s play zone. Albrook Mall has free outdoor parking, a paid multi-story car park and a valet parking service. This large mall is divided into 13 zones, all identifiable by the giant animal at each entrance. Currently the mall is working on opening a 14th zone which will be connected to the newly opened Tryp by Wyndham Hotel. Albrook Mall is the ideal mall for the tourist without a car as the city’s bus terminus is located there; all buses from the city and beyond terminate in Albrook.

Multi-Plaza

For shoppers looking for many designer labels and high fashion, Multi Plaza is the place to go. Located in the heart of the city, Multi-Plaza has a lot to offer its patrons. Here you can find over 280 stores including luxury brands, department stores and boutiques. Multi Plaza also has an eight-screen cinema and a Chuckee Cheese Play zone for children. There are 47 restaurants here to suit all budgets and the mall even has an outside terrace area with restaurants, bars and even a nightclub. Isabella Night Club in Multi-Plaza is the place to be if you’re looking for a high-class night out in Panama. Free parking both outdoors and indoors is available at Multi-Plaza. Multi-Plaza offers a free shuttle bus pick up and drop off service from the airport and any hotel within the city. Have your concierge call them and arrange the time for you.

Metro-Mall

If you are only in Panama for an airport layover but you would like to experience shopping, Metro Mall is the place for you. This mall is located only ten minutes from the airport and has over 300 stores satisfying all tastes and budgets. Owned by the same people as Multi-Plaza they also have a shuttle bus service available from the airport. The bus runs for free from right outside the airport terminal every 30 minutes, 7 days a week, from 10am – 5pm.

Other Malls

Visit Multicentro in the heart of the city for eating and shopping and stay on for the cinema, casino or even the Hard Rock Hotel which is attached to this mall. This is a high street type mall with many independent retailers. Super Centro El Dorado was the first mall in Panama but it has just undergone a grand renovation. This is a popular mall with locals thanks to its affordable shops and convenient location. If you are keen to visit all the shopping malls in Panama City, don’t miss out on Westland Mall, which is on the outskirts of the city in the West Panama region.

Panama Shopping Tips

Shopping in Albrook Mall can take up an entire day so wear comfortable shoes! Although you can find branded stores in every mall, if you are looking to spend less, try the local branded stores. The Panamanian department stores are a good place to start: El Costo, Conway, Stevens and El Titan which sell clothes, shoes, toys, homeware and even furniture, all at rock-bottom prices. Another store to look out for is Arrocha, originally opened as a pharmacy this has grown to be a national chain selling books, stationary, perfumes and cosmetics, amongst other sought-after items. If you are looking to print photos, buy a gift, or get medicine Arrocha has it covered.
