We live in New Mexico, where we enjoy the changing seasons. Rather than trying to escape winter, we look forward to it. If it gets too cold out, we always have our fireplace and hot tub!

We book a direct flight to Nassau, in the Bahamas, for a long weekend. Our favorite place to stay is the Nassau Marriott Resort & Crystal Palace Casino. It's so easy to forget how everyone else is spending the wintry weekends back home.

New Orleans—if the city were a woman, it would be Ava Gardner.

I go to the Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa in Fort Myers, Florida. It has its own beach, a full-service beauty salon and European-style spa, terrific tennis courts, and even a private yacht for dinner cruises.

St. Bart's is my favorite. It has a delightful French atmosphere, several lovely beaches, and, most of all, friendly people.

New York, N.Y.

Believe it or not, our favorite cold-weather retreat is East Orleans out on Cape Cod. You can walk along Nauset Beach on the Atlantic and Skaket Beach on Cape Cod Bay, and there's Crystal Lake for ice fishing. We stop by the warm, cozy Barley Neck Inn for a nightcap.

My husband loves the golfing in Charleston, South Carolina, and I love not having to bundle up to deal with winter—something that's not feasible in Massachusetts. We enjoy shopping for antiques on King Street or wandering through gardens during the annual candlelight tour of houses.

North Andover, Mass.

We love to see Europe during the cold-weather months. Airline ticket prices are usually much lower, and there are fewer tourists. It's really a great time for a trip!

Nowhere. My husband and I stay home, where we play in the snow (if there is any) and then cuddle by the fireplace.
