Langham Place, New York Celebrates 150 Years with a $150 Tea Time

This is What a $150 Afternoon Tea Looks Like

For the entire month of June, The Langham, London is celebrating its 150th anniversary, and to help fête the occasion, the brand, including its New York extension Langham Place, New York, will too be observing the 150th anniversary of the first ever “afternoon tea”—the practice was debuted at the hotel’s Palm Court dining room back in 1865.

Of course, there’s no better way to mark the anniversary than with an intensively uppercrust tea service. Chef David Vandenabeele and the Measure Lounge team will be offering a modern take on the traditional afternoon meal every weekend in June for $150 per person.

If you think that’s steep, you haven’t seen the menu yet. Here’s what you can expect:
• Glazed Duck Liver Parfait with Pomegranate Glaze on Brioche
• White Asparagus and Black Morel Tartlet with Quail Egg and Summer Truffle
• Beluga Caviar and Buckwheat Blini
• Baklava with Sicilian Pistachio and Gold Leaf
• Hand-Rolled Truffles with Hennessy XO Cognac
• Pink Rose Laurel Perrier Panna Cotta
• Hand-Crafted Bento Box with homemade Ginger Nutmeg & Orange Scones with Wild Berry Jam and Clotted Cream
• Teas from Pursuit of Tea
• Champagne

Reservations are required—head on over to OpenTable to save your seat.
