Vincent Laforet’s Aerial Photos of London

Cannes-winning photographer Vincent Laforet has a photo series that will have even the most well versed of Londoners experiencing their city in a whole new way. Laforet’s Air Series will eventually feature nighttime aerial views from four European cities, but the photographer made the capital of England his first stop on this photographic tour.

Flying at a maximum altitude of 6,000 feet and fighting wind speeds of 35 miles per hour, Laforet managed to capture a hazy, dreamlike view of the city. He previously photographed a birds-eye view of London back in 2008 and found that the scenery had gone through quite a transformation. His words: “The incredible diversity of curves and lines in the streets—that could be said to be chaotic—and the incredible change in the lighting of the city since the Olympics, have made for the most surprising set of images yet, and likely my favorite to date.”
