At the south end of Banpo Bridge are these three artificial floating islands interconnected by walkways. Each features futuristic buildings in a complex that comprises restaurants, an exhibition hall and an outdoor stage. Definitely aim to visit at night when its buildings are lit up spectacularly by LED lights, as is the Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain .

Covered with 10,000 lights, the fountain's rainbow-coloured water rains down in graceful arcs from the double-decker bridge. Spanning 1140m, it's the world’s longest fountain and is best viewed from the island's observation deck or Banpo Hangang Park .

The 20-minute show happens late April to the end of August at noon, 8pm and 9pm Monday to Friday and noon, 6pm, 8pm, 8.30pm and 9pm on Saturday and Sunday. Shows are cancelled if it’s raining.
