To view the huge dam wall of Hoa Binh's Russian-built hydroelectric station up close, head across Hoa Binh's bridge and follow the riverside road to the lookout platform right beside the wall. Engineering fans can also enter the tunnels underneath. On the way to the dam there's a memorial to the 161 workers who died during its construction.
