The northern part of the main square is occupied by this beautifully preserved 13th-century palace. A Venetian makeover in the 16th century added towers that served as a residence and a prison. The site held feasts, parades, fairs and witch burnings.
The castle is home to a seasonal medieval park ; on weekends, visitors can roam around the castle on their own.
