Manavgat Waterfalls

Manavgat Waterfalls

The Manavgat Waterfalls are located along the Manavgat River just outside the town of Manavgat. Manavgat is located almost six miles from Side and about 50 miles from Antalya. The river flows through Manavgat and out to the Mediterranean Sea, making this area very fertile for growing fruit, vegetables, and other crops. In some parts of the river, trout is bred and can sometimes be seen near the falls.
The falls are low but wide, and the water flow is powerful enough to make an impressive sound as the water crashed over the rocks. Due to the low height of the waterfalls, during times of flooding the falls themselves could be covered by the higher water level. There is a safely enclosed pool at the viewing area where it's possible to get your feet wet. Near the falls, you'll find shady gardens and a recreation area to relax in, as well as restaurants, a cafeteria, and souvenir shops. The area is well-lit at night, so it's possible to visit after the sun goes down. Boat trips are available that will take you along the river to explore the area further.

Practical Info

To get to the waterfalls from Manavgat, take a minibus with “Şelale - Sarılar” on the sign. The minibus costs about 2Turkish lira (just under US$1) per person and takes about 15 minutes to reach the entrance to the waterfalls. Entry to the falls costs 3.5 TL and is free after 8pm.
